The History
The Florrie is a beautifully restored Grade II listed Victorian Building. Uniquely distinguished by intricate terracotta brickwork, The Florrie was built in 1889 by Sir Bernard Hall, a West Indies merchant and former Mayor of Liverpool. He built the Florence Institute in memory of his daughter Florence, who tragically died at the age of 22. The Florence Institute was officially opened as a boys club in 1890, infact it was the first building in Britain to be specifically constructed as a boys' youth club.
The Hauntings
Does the spirit of Florence now reside within these walls? During the restoration period workmen would be terrified to venture upstairs for fear of what or who they would come face to face with. Regular sightings of a Nun have been witnessed on the lower floors, equipment turning itself on by invisible hands and an ornate marble plaque of Florence said to mysteriously light up late a night. The question is are you brave enough to spend a night at The Florrie???

Lime Street
Saturday 9th June
8:30pm - 02:00am • Tickets: £30
History: This location has remained a mystery for many years, abandoned and never before seen by the public, until now. We have been lucky enough to have exclusive access to this amazing place, that lies beneath Lime Street. What was once thought to be an old subterranean street joining Lime Street station to the Great North Western Hotel, is now believed to be the original basements of the hotel. The hotel was built in 1867 an...d completed in 1871. Rather like back stage in a theatre, this area would have had hundreds of staff flowing through these huge corridors making the 5 star hotel function smoothly, unbeknown to the glamorous guests upstairs. Everything from dirty laundry to fine wines, would be housed in one of the many rooms below. There would even be sleeping quarters for some of the night staff, with no way of them distinguishing night from day.
Hauntings: Tales of a lady dressed in white roaming the upper basement level, the feeling of being followed up the basement stairs by an invisible energy and sounds of a woman singing are some of the many paranormal accounts that have taken place in this historic site. Previous investigations have revealed doors slamming shut on command, unaccountable voices being whispered and people being touched by invisible hands. This venue is like no other and never fails to shock and amaze us!
